1883 Federal Pensioners

A Federal Senate resolution on 8 December 1882, called for a listing of pensioners. The list was published in volume five of The Executive Documents, Senate of the United States for the Second Session of the Forty-Seventh Congress, 1882-’83 [5 volumes. Washington, Government Printing Office. 1883] and contains the name of each pensioner, the cause for which pensioned, the post-office address, the rate of pension per month, and the date of original allowance. The “List of Pensioners on the Roll, January 1, 1883” for Pickens County is located on page 206.
